In grief, all we can do is take notes and learn as we go, keep walking through the damage—talk and share and create as we speak—and stay at it, try to make something of it, our loss, and find new meaning in that.

a feather
While out walking this morning, this tiny feather floated down right in front of me, almost on my nose.

In her book, The Meaning of Feathers, Nicole Suzanne Brown writes that seeing a feather fall from the sky means you’re being asked to pay attention to the world around you. A feather that falls toward you is a reminder that you don’t have control over every situation.
